Here the Drôme provençale meets the mountains. In its setting of peaks, culminating between 1,300 m and 1,500 m, at the extreme south-east of the department and 800 m in altitude, Séderon - 300 inhabitants - opens the Méouge valley. At the gateway to the Hautes-Alpes, the Vaucluse and the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, you are at a crossroads where influences collide: blue skies, cicadas, lavender and, at the same time, a certain Alpine rigour. The little-known Séderon region, sung by Giono, alternates between wooded areas and large areas of grass, and combines agriculture - sheep and goat breeding, lavender growing - and green tourism. Its fresh air is renowned.
