Piégros and La Clastre merged in the year VIII. In feudal times, the community of Piégros formed two seigneurial lands, which were united in the 16th century: Piégros and Saint-Médard. The village is home to one of the last remaining custom-built walnut oil mills. Individuals come here to have their kernels pressed to obtain their golden, tasty local oil. The village is also home to a privately-restored hilltop château and the Brunel chapel, which served as a refuge and relay for monks and pilgrims, justifying its dedication to Notre-Dame de Bon Secours. Pilgrimage on the second Sunday in September.
