Source in honor of Louis-Joseph Firmin Galimard, a silk miller in Vals-les-Bains.
This spring is named Puits Firmin in homage to Louis-Joseph Firmin Galimard (1815-1865), silk miller. This one, by drilling a mine hole, made a spring appear. It was in 1861, Vals-les-Bains saw its destiny turned upside down with a future turned towards thermalism. From then on, 143 mineral water springs producing water at 13°C were known. Discovered in 1865, the so-called intermittent spring provides gaseous water gushing out of the subsoil when the pressure becomes too high, at a rate of every 6 hours.

C'est un curieux site à visiter. Dommage que la sources est clôturé, on ne peut pas toucher l'eau. On a été surprise par la pression de l'eau qui donne un jet assez haut
Not to be missed, retiring geyser floor at scheduled times during the day. La source is located in a beautiful park.
