The Neanderthal man settled on the territory of Vagnas 280 000 years ago. The oldest houses in this picturesque commune of the Bas-Vivarais, grouped around the Place Urbain-Thévenon, date from the 14th century. The large building located opposite the town hall is the castle of the priors who were also the lords of Vagnas. Next to it is the Maison pour tous, the village hall, which has the particularity of occupying the old church of Vagnas. Also specific: the goule de Foussoubie, well known to cavers, the dolmen of Champagnac, or the bridges over the Rieussec. Visit the museum Le Temps de Vagnas.
