5 km from Aubenas, Ucel is separated into two villages by the steep valley of the Sandron. There is the Pont d'Ucel, at the gates of Aubenas, built on the banks of the river. It was the district where the silk industry developed. A dozen hamlets of character can be discovered along the paths along the Ardèche or winding along the wooded hills. There is the old Ucel, a perched village with old houses and narrow, steep streets. There is an astonishing semi-troglodyte chapel where hermit monks have lived since the 16th century. You can bathe in the "gours" of the Ardèche and the Sandron. Many hiking trails
