Originally, the town had two centres: the district of Saint-Sornin around the church and Serrières, to the north, around the castle and its chapel. The two parts were joined by the Fondalin district in the 16th century. Located along the Rhone, Serrières was a prosperous port. Many sailors called there. They left pious works of art displayed in the former church of Saint-Sornin. You can discover the old quarters on foot before sitting down on the beautifully laid-out quay to watch the water flow. Here the ViaRhôna passes. The walk is pleasant along the extension of the Ile de la Platière
