Situated at an altitude of 1,230 metres on the Ardèche plateau, it is one of the highest villages in the Ardèche. The proximity of Mont Gerbier-de-Jonc, known as the source of the Loire River, means that this little village of just 200 inhabitants attracts many tourists. In the square beside the church, you'll find a magnificent listed farmhouse: the 15th-century Ferme de Clastres. Originally a cloister, it was bought by the commune in 1821 and turned into a presbytery. The famous Fin gras du Mézenc festival is held every year on the first weekend in June, and the violet festival the following weekend.
