This village knew very early how to take advantage of its water resources. From the 17th century onwards, Colonel d'Ornano, Lord of Aubenas, authorised the people of Saint-Privad to take water from the river for agricultural purposes. They built a 2.7 km canal for irrigation. In the 19th century, this canal fed many mills. In the heart of the Monts d'Ardèche regional nature park, at the confluence of the Ardèche and Luol rivers, you can discover the old village, its hamlets, the 19th century church, the 17th century Pont-Vieux, the banks of the Ardèche, ideal for swimming, and magnificent viewpoints
