The village was built on the fertile land of the old Rhône river bed during the ice age. This land favoured agricultural and fruit growing, protected from the prevailing winds and with a very good sunny exposure. Thus Saint-Désirat owes its fame to its cherries and apricots. The local soil has also fed the pottery workshops, another regional speciality. Let us add the local wines with the prestigious appellations of Saint-Joseph and Condrieu. So many gourmet attractions and reasons to stop over. The climb up the hill leads to the Annonay plateau and offers a breathtaking view of the valley.
