At 500 m above sea level, Saint-Barthélémy-Grozon is the meeting of two parishes: Grozon and Saint Barthélémy, hence the existence of two churches on the commune. Grozon was an important hamlet, a former fief of the Templiers. The Wheel of the Wheel Rose commemorates a bloody event that takes place during religious wars. Indeed, the Wheel Greenhouse was a place to retrenchment Protestants. In 1709, all the nobility of the country discovered them and massacres while celebrating their worship: a macabre story that recalls the importance of confrontation between Protestants and Catholics in the northern Ardèche. In the heart of the village, Grozon Castle dates from the tenth century. He belonged to Lestrange's family until 1789. After being burned, the castle was restored from 1923 by Raoul Giraud and his nephew Jacques Vernet. Today it is Pierre-Camille Vernet who continues to preserve this heritage. As for the castle of Soubeyran, cradle of the family of Hector de Soubeyran de Saint-Prix, member of parliament for the Ardèche during the Revolution, it is now owned by the F.O.L (Federation of Secular Works) and houses a medical-educational institute.A local association helps to move habits and organizes many events and animations throughout the year that feel good at Ardèche. Many well-marked hiking trails leave the village.
