Between the Cevennes and Provence, Rosières developed around a priory of the order of Citeaux, relatively important. The present church, whose choir dates back to the 11th century, was rebuilt in 1840 after the bell tower fell and the vault collapsed. The commune of Rosières, as we know it today, was born of the merger, by Royal Decree of 1825, of the commune of Rosières bas Balbiac and that of haut Balbiac. Hence the presence of two churches, two schools and two cemeteries. Rosières is distinguished by its heritage including its church, its crosses and bridges, its vineyards, the river Beaume and its gorges.
