Founded by the Abbey of Bonnevaux in Isère, this abbey was the largest Romanesque building in the Vivarais. About a hundred people, monks, lay brothers, servants, pilgrims passing through... worked there at the time of its splendour. Most of the remains date from the 12th century: this is the case of the ruins of the original church. The remains of the cloister can also be seen. The surrounding wall and its slate-covered tower date from the Wars of Religion. A table tells you the history of the abbey. Used until the Revolution, the abbey was partly dismantled to serve as a stone quarry for the construction of surrounding buildings
