This is the Ardèche at the end of the world! About ten kilometres north-east of the lake of Issarlès, you reach Le Béage by a small, winding and picturesque road, through a wild mountain, barely passing a few cows and sheep in the pastures. Le Béage, a perched village, faces the Haute-Loire as well as the Ardèche. Isolated in winter, Le Béage, at the crossroads of high places of interest that are very popular during the tourist season - Lake Issarlés, Gerbier-de-Jonc and Mount Mézenc - comes alive in summer.
