Situated on a spur overlooking the Doux, Condoie and Grozon rivers, the castle was built in the 10th century by the lords of La Mastre. The first lord whose name is known was Adhémar de Mastra in 1082. After a very lively history, marked by wars and looting, it was abandoned in 1792, at the death of the last lord of the place. If Peychelard is now a private property, several hiking trails allow you to discover it more closely. The place is not recommended for young children.

Une ballade en passant

Pour les amateurs de ballaes et de belles pierres, une visite s'impose si vous passez par Lamastre. Une petite grimpette d'un kilomètre environ, et vous aurez à la fois la chance de parcourir les ruines d'une ancien château, mais également une superbe vue plongeante sur le village. A faire ensuite la visite des ruines du châteua de Retourtour, non loin de celui-ci...
