Grospierres would come from the Latin gurges petra (chasm in the stone), certainly evoking the Vauclusian resurgence of the Font-Vive. To see, the old chapel of Notre-Dame-des-Songes and the Romanesque church. The dolmens, the tumulus of La Roche and the cave of Goupil, witnesses of the prehistoric occupation of the site. This commune has 3 main hamlets. Chastelas, Grospierrres with shops, church, town hall, school and Comps around a small Romanesque church near the tourist complex of Rouret. Grospierres is now a tourist village with campsites, self-catering cottages, bed and breakfast and a Pierre et Vacances village
