You cross Chirols after a good climb from Vals on the D253. Overlooking the high valleys of the Ardèche and Fontaulière, this village is composed of several hamlets clinging to the Sainte-Marguerite mountain. We dock at the village by crossing the bridge of Veyrières (dam, ecomuseum of the mill) by a small winding road that spans the Fontaulière. This village keeps the memory of its peasant and textile past. Chirols is committed to developing an eco-hameau and revitalizing the craft industry. You will find gîtes and guest rooms. From the summit of Sainte-Marguerite (987 m), the landscape is magnificent! From the village square, you already have an exceptional view of the Fontaulière valley. It is said that Julius Caesar went through there to fight Vercingetorix.
