A steep village with an incredible charm. Halfway between Aubenas and Vallon-Pont-d'Arc, it is one of the jewels of the southern Ardèche. Overlooking a loop of the Ardeche bordered by a cliff drawing a magnificent circus, Balazuc impresses. To see: Romanesque church with a Provençal combed bell tower, carved stones, winding streets, staircases with stone ramps, shaded arcades, remains of ramparts leading to the castle, the church square with its medieval-style shops and houses with mullioned windows... A 13th century square tower houses the information point and an exhibition recounting 2,000 years of local history. Very touristic in summer
