After a century dedicated to coal mining, in the 1950s Noyant-d'Allier welcomed returnees from Indochina in the corons left by the Polish miners. This gave rise to a sizeable Asian community, which is still very much alive today, giving the village its distinctive character and making it a popular tourist destination. Take a stroll through the corons, small miners' houses built side by side with gardens, characteristic of this district, whose flower-laden alleys will lead you quietly to the famous Buddhist pagoda. Visit the Mine Museum, the Miniature Palace and the electric velorail on the old railroad line.
