NATIONAL RESISTANCE MUSEUM
Museum with an exhibition space, two thirds of which are devoted to the Occupation and the Resistance in Montluçon, to be discovered.
Founded in 2012, the Association bourbonnaise des amis du musée de la Résistance nationale has opened an exhibition space in Montluçon, two-thirds of which is devoted to the Occupation and the Resistance, with a particular focus on key events, such as the demonstration on January 6, 1943, or the massacre at Les Grises on August 14, 1944. The collection also includes period documents, as well as various materials used by the Montluçon Resistance (parachuting, weapons, clandestine printing, etc.). Thanks to the Musée de la Résistance Nationale in Champigny-sur-Marne, with which it is linked, contacts have been established with German researchers working on the archives of the German army, the Wehrmacht, which are now accessible, in the hope of finding elements in military reports to shed light on events following the Grises massacre, which preceded the liberation of the town by a few days. To arrange a visit, contact by telephone Jacky Laplume, president of the association and head of the departmental committee of Resistance veterans.
