This perched village has kept its appearance of a medieval stronghold, surrounded by ramparts (11th-13th century). Its singularity lies in the cohesion of the population which bought back the communal franchises from its lord. Start the visit by the Saracen gate pierced in the ramparts. The streets are narrow, the house of Monier de la Quarrée, the church of Saint-Hilaire and, further on, the chapel of Saint-Ferréol. A rue de la Juiverie attests that a Jewish community found refuge in the 14th century. Push on to the Renaissance castle (remodeled in the 19th century but private). The belvedere, located at the exit of the village, offers beautiful panoramas.
