The Jas de Puyvert is worth the detour with its troglodyte houses, its giant dovecote (the only remaining vestige of a former 14th century castle) restored with its 3,000 terracotta boulins glazed in four different colours, and its chapel perched on a rocky outcrop, serving as an outpost for the Château de Lourmarin. And then there is Puyvert and its scattered houses, and a pretty old heart built around a town hall-school. Don't be surprised to see a dog cracking or chickens crossing the road. Life here is quiet, so lift your feet! The avenue de la Gravière, leads you to the cemetery, for hikers, the path climbs the Luberon hillside.
