Between the arms of the Sorgue river, stretches the city of Thor, capital of the table grape, the chasselas. From the medieval ramparts, remains the magnificent belfry gate which seems to watch over its city, surmounted by a wrought iron campanile. In the town hall square, you can see the statues of Molière and Corneille sculpted by the Brian brothers and in the garden, the monument erected in memory of Pierre Goujon d'Alcantara, benefactor of the town and founder of the public schools. Fishermen line up along the banks while canoes and kayaks glide along the clear waters. In the surrounding countryside are the fabulous caves of Thouzon.
