Water occupies a principal place in the life of La Motte-d'Aigues, as shown by its 4 fountains, its 2 wash houses, its numerous basins and wells which formerly fed the source of Mirail and the pond of La Bonde. It was Fouquet d'Agoult who, in the 15th century, attempted to regenerate the land and developed the Bonde pond, now a place for swimming and walks nestled in the heart of green nature. Bathed in vineyards, this commune is a peaceful village.
