Stopping at the village is to land at the junction of the Basse and Haute Provence, the starting point of the road that merchants must take to go to Sisteron or the Durance valley. Dominated by the remains of a 13th century castle, the date on which the village was founded by the Count of Forcalquier, La Bastide des Jourdans owes its name to Guillaume and Pierre JOURDAN whose patronymic is linked to that of the place "Bastida" which means rural fortification. To see the 16th century chapel Notre-Dame de la Consolation, classified M.H, the 17th century belfry, the 13th century church Notre-Dame et Saint-Pierre-aux-Liens.
