It is hard to imagine that this tiny village, so quiet today, was once the crossroads of the local merchants, strategically located in one of the most beautiful parts of the Luberon: between Gordes and Ménerbes and between Bonnieux and Cavaillon. Its name comes from the Beaumes, which are a sort of natural cave embedded in the cliffs above the village. It is that the "great road" crossed it! This is one of the famous scenes in the film Heureux qui comme Ulysse, with Fernandel. Today, the national road bypasses the village, which is therefore won over by a gentle tranquility. Go to the remains of the 15th century castle.
