The village is famous for its sweet and sweet wine. It backs onto a veritable amphitheatre of hills called Saint-Sauveur or Montagne de Coyeux. There are many caves (Saint-Amand, Montmirail) which certainly served as a habitat in the Neolithic period. And for the record, the caves are called "baumo" in Provençal and the contraction of the word "venaissin" into "venisse" then "venise". The "caves of venaissin" were transformed into the poetic "Beaumes de Venise". The village is a "green resort" well sheltered from the north winds by the famous "Dentelles": it is presented as one of the hottest places in the Vaucluse
