At an altitude of 350 m, on a road leading to the lake of Sainte-Croix and the Verdon gorges, Villecroze is protected by a mountain slope, covered with pines and holm oaks, which shelters it from the mistral. Its park with its rare species, its troglodytic caves, its waterfall and its numerous springs which gush out in the surroundings give it a fresh and green touch. The old village has kept its medieval character with its arcades and narrow streets. The campanile, the ancient keep which adjoins the castle, the 12th century chapel of Saint-Victor and the 17th century Romanesque church deserve a thorough visit.
