The commune of Trans-en-Provence is the result of the regrouping of different village centers historically distributed along the Nartuby river which crosses the village. This river has dug spectacular "potholes" in the tufa rock, once used to turn the wheels of mills and visible from the top of the Bertrand bridge, which overlooks the waterfalls. A spectacular natural setting that does not detract from the charm of the streets of Trans and its rich heritage. The old town hall of the 18th century, the fountain of the church square and the amazing aerial well of Knappen (1930) are all three registered as historical monuments
