Museum with rare objects from prehistoric times, a collection of ancient amphorae and furniture from underwater excavations

This museum is housed in the presbytery of the ancient church of San Rafeù and is full of rare objects from prehistoric times, a remarkable collection of ancient amphorae and furniture from underwater excavations, which are regularly enriched by new discoveries. You can also visit the Romanesque church dating from the ^12th century and the crypts. From the top of the tower, 30 m high, the visitor will discover a 360° panorama, from the summits of the Estérel to the tip of Saint-Tropez and an unobstructed view on the basilica and its Byzantine domes.

Opening time and information on ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM

Open all year round. Open from November to February: Tuesday afternoon to Saturday morning 10am to 12.30pm and 2pm to 5pm (closed to the public on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday morning and Saturday afternoon). From Tuesday to Saturday. From March to June and October: from Tuesday afternoon to Saturday 9h to 12h30 and from 14h to 17h (closed to the public Sunday, Monday and Tuesday morning). From July to September: Tuesday to Saturday 10am to 6pm (Closed to the public Sunday and Monday). Free of charge. For guided tours: 2 € per person and children's workshops during the school holidays: 2 € (see programme on the Saint-Raphaël city website). Credit card not accepted. Car parks in the town centre (paying).

Très belle découverte à St Raphaël de ce musée gratuit et très intéressant.
Des amphores surtout mais aussi des objets relatifs aux prémices de la plongée sous marine,... Une belle vue sur St Raphaël du haut de la tour. A voir
