The peninsula of Saint-Mandrier, completely surrounded by water until the 17th century, closes the roadstead of Toulon. Most of the site is occupied by military installations. If you take the "sentier des Douaniers", you will have a nice view of the coast and its beaches. Saint-Mandrier is a pretty little fishing and pleasure port. Its bay, the hollow of Saint-Georges, was already known in Antiquity. The interesting point of the peninsula is occupied by the Franco-Italian cemetery where the pyramid-shaped tomb of Admiral Latouche-Tréville is located
