At 335 metres above sea level, the medieval fortified village is nestled around its clock tower - only the gate and the square tower remain from the medieval period. The Saint-Jean hospice is worth a visit for art lovers for its 16th century portrait gallery. The collegiate church of Saint-Laurent, dating from the 19th century, replaced the church built in the 13th century. It has very beautiful stained glass windows and inside beautiful carved and gilded wooden altars as well as a Virgin carved in a block of olive tree dating from 1340. Today, Rians lives essentially from its agriculture and its vineyard, classified in appellation Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence
