Built on a rocky spur, between the Sainte-Victoire mountain and the Aurelian mount, this village was the scene of an extremely bloody battle against the Teutons, in 102 BC, won by Marius Caius, a Roman general and politician. With nearly 10,000 dead, this confrontation will mark the history of the village of Pourrières and could be the origin of the name of the village 'champs pourris' It is a terroir of more than 1,200 hectares to discover with the vitality of its viticulture and its AOC Côtes-de-Provence-Sainte-Victoire wines, where three dominant grape varieties, syrah, grenache and cinsault, give it a unique character and taste.
