You have to go back to the Gallo-Roman period to discover the origins of Méounes-lès-Montrieux, the village of Sainte-Baume. These are the representatives of ancient Ligurian tribes who, being the authors of the establishment of several "villas", are in fact the authentic founders of the village. In the north of the Gapeau valley, this small commune is the starting point for many hikes such as the Calvary with its characteristic view of the village, the aiguilles de Valbelle, the Rampins cave or the aqueduct.
