The first village of Le Beausset was located at the top of the mother hill, at the present site of the Notre-Dame-du-Beausset-Vieux chapel. In 1510, the bishop of Marseille, owner of the site, authorized the inhabitants to go down to the plain, where the current agglomeration is located. Only the 12th century Romanesque chapel remains. This place houses a very beautiful statue of the Virgin, in gilded wood, attributed to Pierre Puget's workshop in Toulon, and an adjoining gallery where a hundred or so ex-votos dedicated to the celestial protector are displayed. Next to the building, an orientation table allows you to admire a complete circular view of the region
