Already inhabited at the time of the Romans, this small locality runs quiet days at the confluence of two valleys where flows the Môle - with a circumflex accent! - and the Verne. Built on the Sainte-Madeleine hill, the village was rebuilt on the plain. The seigneury was under the control of the Saint-Victor de Marseille abbey, and in the 17th century it belonged to the Suffren family. In his youth, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry lived in the family's 11th century castle on the hill - it is private property and cannot be visited. Today, La Mole is best known for the preservation of its environment, its authenticity and its calm.
