Flassans-sur-Issole, a small rural village, which rises to more than 320 meters, owes its name to a deformation of flatus sanus, healthy air. The village is made up of two districts, spread out on either side of the Issole river. You can see the ruins of the castle of Pontevès, which is currently being renovated - visits are organised during the heritage days. The weekly market of Flassans-sur-Issole is held on Friday mornings, place Jean-Jaurès. Excavations have proven the presence of humans in various places in the area with prehistoric remains. The religious imprint is also strong with many churches and chapels.
