A beautiful monastery nestled in the heart of a chestnut forest, housing a monastic community of Bethlehem since 1983.
This admirable stone vessel, nestled in the heart of a forest of chestnut trees, has had an eventful history. Built in 1170, it was crushed by taxes in 1416 and confiscated, sacked during the Wars of Religion, partly destroyed by forest fires, sold as a national asset during the Revolution, abandoned, plundered, partially fallen into ruin until 1982, then restored. Since 1983 it has been home to a monastic community from Bethlehem. You can visit the cloister, the old refectory, the cloistered buildings, the scriptorium and the outhouses.

étonnant de découvrir, après avoir parcouru une route de quelques kilomètres, ce monastère "perdu" dans la forêt des Maures, classé monument historique encore en ruine il y a une quinzaine d'années et restauré grâce à des mécènes.
