The scene of a battle between Henri IV and the Duke of Savoy in 1592, the village still retains some traces of its past. It became the village of railway workers in the fabulous era of steam traction, and the only locomotive depot between Marseille and Nice counted about a hundred. Even today, a type 4B-9 locomotive is still on display at the entrance to the village with its tender from 1893, and every summer, as if in memory of that time, the tourist train of the centre-Var offers beautiful prospects for rides along the rails. All year round, the village comes alive around its weekly market on Friday morning, Cours Victor Hugo.
