Wines and spirits Brignoles

The know-how of the Vial family has been passed on for five generations. Here, the organic culture is king, which allows to emphasize the natural qualities of a soil of character, where the grapes are vinified with the greatest care. On a 300-hectare estate, the 78-hectare vineyard in AOP Coteaux Varois in Provence produces excellent red wines, the Tradition, Carignan and Batilde Philomène vintages, but also white and rosé wines, as well as an I.G.P. Var, in all three colors.

Covering an area of 15 ha, Domaine Les Mûriers is planted with AOP Côteaux Varois en Provence vines. The first rosé wine was produced in 2021, and since 2022, rosé and white wines have been available. Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault and Rolle grapes are used for the rosés, while the white is 100% single-varietal Rolle. The domaine's wines are full of character. The rosé is almost gastronomic on the palate, while the white is lively and taut. Alexis, who works on the estate, is studying for an oenology certificate at the Université du Vin in Suze-la-Rousse, Vaucluse.

The Domaine la Grand' Vigne has been passed down from father to son for five generations. Today, Roland Mistre, who is also an oenologist, is the conductor of the orchestra. In 2003, he relaunched the vinification at the domain after several decades spent in the cooperative. With the help of his sons, he manages 15 hectares of AOP coteaux-varois-en-provence. His cuvée La Grand' Vigne is available in three colors, while the cuvée Les Fournerys, made from a selection of plots and vinified in barrels, reveals even more gastronomic aromas.

Nathalie Coquelle and Henri De Wulf produce Coteaux Varois en Provence PDO wines in all three colours, as well as Var PGI wines in red and rosé. The 30 hectares of vineyards are run in organic farming, with the utmost respect for the environment. The vintages are named after expressions that have disappeared such as "Fesse-Mathieux", "Ribote", "La Jouvencelle" or "Suivez-moi-jeune-homme"... For the anecdote, the signing of the decree of the Coteaux Varois en Provence appellation in 1993 had in the beautiful cellar of the 12th century.

The Pourraques estate, created around 1300, became in 2015 the property of the internationally renowned chef Joachim Splichal, associated with his sons Stéphane and Nicolas, and was renamed Domaine de Cala. Nestled in the heart of a forest, this one now covers more than 40 hectares of vineyards in the heart of Provence Verte, in AOP Coteaux varois en Provence, planted with four grape varieties for the red and three for the white, in a clay-limestone soil, which allows to produce wines of pleasure, whatever the color.
