Watered by the waters of the Argens and Cauron rivers, Bras is a typical small village. On the hill Saint-Pierre stand the ruins of the medieval castrum, allowing to appreciate a nice panorama on the surroundings. The Romanesque chapel of the Templars dates from the 12th century and is dedicated to Our Lady of Bethlehem. Mystery seekers will surely visit the site of the Blessed Gourds to the west of the village, abysses of volcanic origin filled with crystal-clear water - swimming is (very) strongly discouraged because of the risk of drowning. This same water is said to have turned blood red during the earthquake that ravaged Lisbon in 1754, and on July 22nd, during the procession, it is said that laments are heard, if the procession does not take place around the lake, and that the village would be in danger of being annihilated by flames bursting out of the chasm. Among the major points of interest in the village are the Templar chapel where the commandery of the Order of the XIIth century was installed, the dovecote near the Cauron, the Tombereau waterfall, and the Saint-Pierre chapel. These last two sites are private, but are still worth the detour for the hiking opportunities they provide and the viewpoint they reveal. Finally, every year since 1993, Bras has hosted a very nice comic book festival at the end of September. To eat, the small village has two good restaurants, La Petite Maison de Bras and l'Aoutée. Warmly recommended by the locals!
