Numerous remains and prehistoric objects found in the church cave bear witness to occupation of the site up to the Iron Age. The name of the village appears on writings, in 1113, as Bellum Dinarium, then Beldinard. On 26 May 1389, Elzéar de Sabran, Baron d'Ansouis, became Lord of Baudinard, through his marriage to Beaucette. The lordship remained in Sabran's hands until the Revolution. Today, this village has preserved beautiful houses, connected by vaulted passages full of character.
