This charming village, located 18 km from Fréjus, is built above the course of the Vauloube. As early as the Paleolithic era, our distant ancestors occupied the natural caves in the surrounding hills. An important Roman colony settled on the territory, some vestiges of their villas gave place to many excavations. The church at the top of the village is dedicated to Saint Antonin and its construction dates back to the very beginning of the 18th century. The Notre-Dame-de-la-Pitié chapel was built on the ruins of a Gallo-Roman villa in 1560, as was the 11th-century Saint-Denis chapel, which is listed as a Historic Monument and contains 15th-century frescoes. Also worth seeing are the chapels of Saint-Antoine - 1660 - and Saint-Anne - 1654. You can visit the old millstone factories, which were in operation from prehistoric times until the middle of the 18th century, the oppida of the fortress and the castel Diaou, with their marvellous panoramas, or the Blavet gorges and the prehistoric cave of Mueron. Tours with a naturalist guide will help you discover the insects of Provence, medicinal plants, the geology of the Esterel, aromatic plants and their essential oils, and water in Provence. The "Chemin de notre mémoire", created from photos dating from the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century, guides you through the narrow streets of the village.
