The southern gateway to the Verdon gorges, the history of this village of character goes back to the 6th century BC, with the settlement of a Celto-Ligurian tribe, the Verrucini, on the Saint-Marc plateau, near the caves. Today, the village is best known for its truffle market, which is opened every year on the last Thursday of November by the president of the Var truffle growers' union, and where truffle lovers meet every Thursday morning from the end of November to the beginning of March, from 9.30am to 12pm on the Place Mistral, to see the evolution of the price and the quality of the black truffle
