On the borders of the Var and the Alpes de Haute-Provence, this small village, perched at an altitude of 515 meters in the middle of a hilly landscape framing the Verdon and the Quinson water level - dam on the Verdon -, constitutes an original architectural ensemble, where all the renovated houses offer the same elevation on three levels. This pretty village was however completely devastated following the plague and the wars of succession but it came back to life at the end of the 15th century with the arrival of Genoese and Spanish families. Then, in 1654, Antoine II de Thoron became the first lord of Artignosc. When he died, he was buried in the parish church.
