The Veynois is bathed in a fairly pronounced southern climate: the village squares are filled with plane trees, the sky is often blue. The town of Veynes has forged an important place for itself despite its small size, thanks to its status as a railway junction, this glorious past is evoked in the ecomuseum of the Veynois railwayman. The stroll through the town allows you to come across some rather pleasant old houses, mainly from the 18th and 19th centuries. The castle of La Villette - 14th century - still watches over the destiny of the town, since it is the current town hall. Veynes is the capital of the Buëch and has a population of just over 3,000.
