For all those who prefer simplicity, this unspoilt valley is a small paradise. This classified site offers the most beautiful natural spaces for the walker: the pretty D994G follows it closely, in the direction of Névache, but walkers will be able to see it from above by taking the GR5. The Clarée valley has been known throughout France since Emilie Carles, a native of Val-des-Prés, made it famous in her Wild Herb Soup. At the same time, it has become one of the laboratories of the new French cross-country skiing, in its "no tracks, no beacons" version. Today, it is a set of about 3,000 beds and 80 km of groomed Nordic trails from La Vachette to Névache. But it is still a spotless nature, over about 20 km from the upstream of Briançon.
