Original accommodation booked was poor, room full of mosquitoes and sub-par a/c unit in the room. Staff was friendly and polite throughout the stay, but not the level of service anticipated. Given the location of the resort in the wetlands, every room should be equipped with anti- mosquito units and being told we do not have have these available, but there a supermarket in town you can buy one, is unacceptable! Also not replenishing the bathroom amenities daily, not having a manned reception 24/7, an alternate F&B option in the resort other than the restaurant, closed spa that we were not notified about prior to our arrival and trying to up-sell rather than upgrade to a premium room category given the quality of the accommodation (and the vast disconnect with the room rate) reflects poorly on the guest experience. Overall, a descent stay and there’s potential to become a 4 star auberge, but it would benefit from a more customer -centric approach while the necessary investment in the facilities brings the product to the required level.
