Well-renovated hotel in the city centre with pleasant and well-equipped rooms.

The hotel Gounod is a quiet establishment, although it is located in the city centre. A perfect position to discover the monuments and shops of Saint-Rémy. The rooms are without reproach. Some overlook the inner garden, others the square, but in any case, they are pleasant and well equipped. The hotel itself is located in a historic building, very well renovated and tastefully decorated. The staff are attentive and welcoming. An excellent plan to spend one or more nights in Saint-Rémy.

The hotel smells and the hotel’s response is to bring the front desk clerk to the room and spray air freshener then I’m out, never coming back (see pic). The garden is nice, the WiFi sucks, we found this on booking.com. The room really did smell musty. I’m not being fussy. We put AC on and left the room for two hours and it still smelled. Look $200 euros ain’t cheap but really they did not try to do anything significant to make our stay better and that’s what you don’t want on vacation. And that’s why I’m canning this hotel
