MANADE ALBERT CHAPELLE
The Albert Chapelle manade serves local Camargue cuisine.
A fixture in the world of Camargue traditions and racing since 1963, the manade bears the name of its founder. Today, it's his grandson Florent who has taken over the reins of this Camargue bull-breeding operation, whose reputation is well established, whether in the arenas or in the streets for the animal releases that accompany the festivals of the Arles region. The Mas de Pernes estate is vast, covering a total of 180 hectares for the 180 bulls. Visitors will see the daily work of the gardians: sorting the bulls for the Camargue race, ferrade (branding a young calf), demonstrations by the raseteurs and gardian games in the arena, bandido to bring the bulls back to the pasture. Special tours are organized for corporate seminars and school groups. The site can also be privatized for ceremonies and weddings. On-site, the Bouvino restaurant serves local Camargue cuisine (gardiane and spit-roasted bull's leg, Camargue rice, rouille...).
