Former port warehouses transformed into a service center with a shopping mall and numerous restaurants in Marseille.

Former port warehouses built between 1858 and 1866 by Gustave Desplaces on the model of the London docks, the La Joliette docks extend over 400 m for four buildings. After the terrible fire, masterful work was carried out to restructure the complex under the aegis of architect Eric Castaldi. In 1991, as part of a vast program, the successful redevelopment of the complex attracted offices and numerous high-tech companies (Internet, telephony, etc.), heralding the Euroméditerranée project, as well as banks, shops and marquee entertainment venues. This tertiary cluster is also intended for visiting customers and cruise passengers, who will find it an attractive and cultural stopover. Each warehouse is organized around a six-storey high central courtyard. Exposed stone, brick and metal beams blend perfectly to underline the majesty of the premises. Nearby, the CMA tower, an impressive spire in the Marseille skyline, was built in 2009 by architect Zaha Hidid. Since October 2015, Docks Village has seen the light of day, with the installation of numerous quality boutiques, mainly local, in a totally restyled environment. An aesthetically pleasing, new-style shopping center where you can stroll or brunch in one of the many restaurants. Admire the various, resolutely Mediterranean courtyards. The people of Marseilles are delighted to return to this emblematic part of their city, open every day of the week. A real success story!
